John Stefanidis - a case study
Background:
John Stefanidis Ltd is one of the world's leading interior architecture
and design agencies, carrying out many large scale projects at numerous
UK and international locations.
Business Problem:
Many of the projects taking place at John Stefanidis involve
large numbers of suppliers and products. The existing system was
difficult to use; it involved a number of spreadsheets and applications.
All aspects of data entry were manual and often repetitive. This
led to time consuming duplication and a strong likelihood that
mistakes would be made. In particular, the purchasing process needed
to be greatly improved.
The Solution:
Working closely with Stefanidis, Tailored designed and built Tailored
Interiors; a software system designed for interior
designers and shopfitters, to address and automate all aspects
of estimating, quoting, purchasing, invoicing and reporting.
The new software also linked to the existing accounts package,
creating even greater efficiencies.
The Result:
The economies made by the new system, in terms of time saving
and risk reduction, have impacted across the company at all
levels. From an administrative aspect mistakes have been minimised
and efficiency maximised, whilst from a management perspective
up to date reports can be generated at the push of a button.
To quote Stefanidis' Office Manager:
"The new system
has linked several departments (finance, procurement, administration,
etc) who before its implementation were operating somewhat
independently and oblivious to the activities of each other.
Because of this, there is more transparency e.g. the designers
can see when the accounts department has been invoiced for
an item that they have ordered and also when this has been
paid."
